11/1/14 &11/4/14

Over the past couple of weeks since I last wrote were some of the craziest and spiritually blessed weeks I have had. God has definitely been working here in Brasil and also in his clay pot (me).

We had two groups from the states come and minister to many different groups of people. We had one group that went to the local running Living Stones throwing birthday parties for the kids there in the towns.  The other group was a worship team that gave a wonderful seminar about worship and ministered to the families of Lagoa de Itaenga. Through the worship team 20+ people (parents and students and teachers) came to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.  They were able have a concert that drew many people in to hear the gospel because they were an American band.

These groups came at the perfect time, I have been battling depression and homesickness recently. God sent these Americans to renew my passion for the Brazilian people and my wanting for their lives to become saved.

I have moved once again because of my allergies from the apartment downtown, I am now living at the school with another intern. Hopefully this will help with my heath issues and that I can survive the 4-5 weeks I have left.

Please continue praying for my health both mental and physical. God is teaching me how to be flexible and humble in many situations. Please pray that I can continue in the way God wants me to go.

10/11/2014 NEW FRIENDS CHURCH

I am excited to announce the first service of the new Friends church in Desterro which opened their doors yesterday night. Please pray for Pastor Marcos and his wife and two children and the support of the Pauldalho Community and Carpina Friends Churches as they are trying to help reach those who are living in this town. The Morning Star Friends Church Mission Group and I had the opportunity this past July to visit the church building, where Tele told us the vision for this town and the new church plant.

Please pray for the community of Desterro and surrounding towns.

I also had the opportunity this past weekend to help with a Children's day celebration with the Acacias Church. Where we ministered to families from a recycling community.

9/21/14

I appreciate you messaging, emailing, and calling me to find out how I have been and how I have been feeling. Since the last time I blogged, some major things have happened. I started having headaches every weekend to the point that I couldn't get out of bed. I believe that it was satan using my health to keep me  from doing the work God wanted me to do. Even though I cut out the gluten from my diet, I was still becoming sick and had no extra energy. It got so bad that I saw a doctor here and got some blood work and other tests done to see what could be going on. The tests didn't find anything; all my levels were withing the normal ranges. These results are good, but I still didn't know what was going on. This past week I moved in with Jeff and Lindsay Turner and their two children and I am feeling much better. During the week I am still not back to my 100% heath, but I am definitely on the way to recovery.

Please continue praying for my health and the other intern that is here with me, as she also became sick. With her being sick, please pray for the school as they are trying to fill the 3 classes (3rd, 8th, 9th grades) that she has been teaching. Please pray for me as I consider taking on her classes until she is better.

My classes at the school have been going very well. The children's church has been successful as well. For the next couple of weeks we will be talking about Creation. Yesterday was the first day of this topic. Flavio is in the States and was able to give his testimony at Morning Star last week. He was a blessing for all who were able to hear him.

Thank you for all your prayers and support in my mission here in Carpina, PE Brasil.

God IS NOT finished with me yet.

8/24/14

School started without a hitch. I am co-teaching 3 kindergarten classes. I have had some minor difficulties and some amazing successes in the past three weeks. I just have to trust that God is teaching me in the rough times even though I do not see it. God has also brought me closer to him through trials that the English dept has been going through as a whole group. God is Faithful! Please keep the English dept and the whole school in your prayers as we are all seeing spiritual warfare going on in our lives and in the school.

In theses past few weeks I have found myself battling several issues besides the spiritual warfare with the school. I found out (unofficially) that I have a gluten allergy.  This has been rough since bread to me is a substantial part of my diet. through dealing with this it lead me into a deeper depression. I apologize for my silence these past few weeks but this was the reason.

The churches are doing well. Carpina Friends I am working with the children during the church service. We have more kids than we have room for at the church so we are trying to figure out where we can go to do the service. We let them choose the topic these past couple of weeks and they chose violence. Please pray for me and Michelle (the Pastors wife) that we can tell the children what they need to hear. We have a very wide range of kids that come from the age 3 to 12 are coming. Cajuiero Claro is doing well. Flavio has received approval for his Visa to go to the states in a few weeks. We are very excited about that. This past week there has been a  two year celebration of the woman's group at Cajuiero Claro, Many women have been ministered to by these wonderful ladies.

Go With God!!!

8/3/14

I have already spent almost one month here already. So much has happened. My life and the lives of others have been changed.

English Camp/ VBS through Morning Star Friends Church was a huge success 20 students and 1 teacher gave their lives to Christ at the school. We were also able to share the Gospel of Christ with many of the friends Living stones through Pastor Flavio's work. There were 3 living stones (Mussereppe, Belem, and Cajuiero Claro) that were able to learn about Jesus' love through 2 days of VBS. Msfc team were able to build many new relationships with the children, my mom was one of them.

Not only did we do English Camp/ VBS, but other projects were able to be started. There was a wall for the new Sports Complex that my father and 2 others were able to start. The entrance will be called the Morning Star Gate. We had 2 young gentlemen working with Glory Sports at some of the local churches.

BEFORE

DURING

We  as a team were able to see one of the future Friends church plant and the future camp of  World Renewal Brasil. God is definitely moving here in Pernambuco Brasil.

We had some trials as well 3 of the team members became sick. I being one of them. I am still not 100% so please pray for me.

My parent and I also had an exciting life changing adventure while here in Brasil. We had the opportunity to visit with our Compassion Child. It will be a time we will never forget. In our little girls town Pastor Tele and another Pastor were planning to start a new Church plant in her town. This was all in affect before we mentioned it to Pastor Tele. God is Amazing!!!!! He used my family to help with contacts in this new town. Before we went we didn't know what to expect but God used our unawareness for His glory and not only were my parents blessed but Pastor Tele, the town Mayor, the Compassion supervisor and all of our little Girls teachers at the project she attends.

My work here is not done. It is just starting.

Tomorrow starts a school semester. As I prepare for this year I am reminded that if I believe and give everything to God he will give me the words to tell these Preschoolers. Just like Moses stuttered God gave him the words to set his people free, God will give me the words to say to help these children learn about HIM!!!!

Go with Christ
